In the morning I love a good cup of coffee, but I also like to have something a little more filling. So I got to thinking! Why not create something with the lovely taste of coffee but add a bit more!
Every heard of a Tim Horton's Ice Cap? They are delish but so so so so bad for you! Full of sugar and other things your body just doesn't need, especially in the morning. Well this mixture reminds me of a healthy twist on the Drink.
You are going to need:
* A cold 1/2 cup of coffee, I use one with an infused chocolate flavour!
* 1 Frozen Banana
* 1 Scoop of Vanilla Protein powder
*Ice (about 1/2 a cup, But I usually just eye it out)
*1/2 cup of almond milk
* Honey
That's it!
Add everything but the honey in to a blender and you are ready to go!
Next, Pour it in your favourite mug and add some honey on top for taste.
DELISH.
For a more coffee flavourful drink or a lighter option skip the banana. It is still great and The perfect way to start your day.
Helpful Tips:
*When my bananas start to get old and I know I wont be eating them, I chop them up (unpeeled) and place them in plastic bags to freeze. This way I always have frozen bananas on hand in the mornings.
* I will usually keep the other 1/2 of my brewed coffee and place it in the fridge for the next time. If you don't have time to cool your coffee you can add your ice to it first and then place it in the blender together.
